Friday - May 7 Morning Free to Jam and Socialize 12:30 – 2:00 Introduction to Flatpicking (dAD tuning -Novice and up) Picking across the strings for the melody is in many ways easier than moving up and down the fretboard. This workshop teaches the very fundamentals of doing this with scale study and a tune to learn. 3:00 – 4:30 The Kesh Jig (dAD tuning, Intermediate and up.) We'll learn about 6/8 time signature and have a lot of fun learning a great jig, The Kesh Jig. Vendor Area open (vendors may choose their own time) Rest of day and evening free to Jam and Socialize Saturday – May 8 9AM – 6PM - Vendor Area open 9:30 – 11:30 Beginner’s Forum Various Instructors (Free) You Choose a Topic and will help you. 12:30 – 2:00 Efficient Chords and Inversions (dAD tuning, Novice and up.) If you are ready to start learning more about chords, this workshop discusses chord patterns, how chords can be used for melody, and how to quickly make a chord's inversion...a very useful tool 2:30 – 4:00 Blues and Boogie (dAD tuning, all levels.) We will learn both Blues in E and Boogie in D. Time will be spent with the shuffle rhythm, simple improvisations, and a rockin' version of Shortenin' Bread. Always fun for all. 4:30 – 5:30 Open Mic 6:00 – 7:00 Dinner Catered (cost $10.00 per person) 7:15 – 9:00 Evening Concert (Free) Sunday – May 9 9:00 – 11:00 Playing Cross Key (dAD tuning, Intermediate and up.) No capo, no retuning. We will learn a tune in both the Key of A and the Key of G, while tuned to dAD.
